The 60 meter tall Great Wheel opened to the public in June of 2012, capable of carrying 300 passengers in its 42 fully enclosed gondolas. The Wheel extends 40 feet over Elliott Bay along its 12-minute, 3 revolution ride.  Our Ferris Wheel weighs just over 140 tons, with 100 tons of reinforcing steel encased in its 550-ton concrete foundation.  Upon its opening, it was the largest observation wheel on the West Coast.
